The individual’s, who are not pathologists but wish to serve as directors of moderate- or high-complexity laboratories, must complete a 20-hour CME or CEU course covering laboratory director responsibilities. Additional experience requirements must also be met.
Current Director’s must also comply with the new regulations for maintaining CEU’s. Additionally, Director’s “must be onsite at least once every 6 months”. If a Director is listed for more than one laboratory, evidence of onsite visits is required.
